Abstract :
We develop a noise jamming suppression method for single-antenna tracking radar systems which use linear frequency modulated (LFM) waveforms. It is assumed that the range uncertainty of the target is a small percentage of the equivalent range extent of the uncompressed pulse. Stretch processing following bivariate empirical mode decomposition (BEMD) is applied to the received complex noisy signals. Then BEMD filtering based on cross-validation is carried out to remove the jamming component from the received signals. A significant reduction of the jamming to signal plus noise ratio (JSNR) is achieved with the proposed algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.
