Abstract :
Summary form only given. We report on traveling-wave parametric conversion of <20-fs Ti:sapphire laser pulses in type II BBO crystals yielding tunable infrared pulses as short as 14.5 fs with a few microjoules energy at a 1-kHz repetition rate. The choice of the phase-matching type is discussed.
