Abstract :
This article focuses on the considerations of power measurement on modulated signals. The principles of RF/microwave pulse and peak power measurement are first presented. After discussing the pulse definition, we put the emphasis on the pulse characteristics that determine the performance and capability of such applications. According to the measurement requirement of the pulsed signals, we fully studied the factors which influence the quality of a power measurement system. The results show that the sensor detecting technologies, the signal conditioning channel, the data Acquisition, the sensor video bandwidth and rise time, and the versatile convenient functions of the instrument should be taken into account for high speed power measurement.
