Abstract :
Summary form only given. We report on the development of an all-solid-state, single-frequency, gain switched Ti:sapphire laser. The system was pumped by a diode-laser-pumped, frequency-doubled high-repetition-rate Nd:LiYF/sub 4/ laser. For 20 W of diode pump power, this laser delivered up to 2.5 W of 523-nm output at minimum repetition rates of 6 kHz.
