Abstract
This work presents a novel architecture of sigma-delta modulators that shares the properties of both discrete and continuous time modulators. The suggested implementation uses transmission tines and is particularly suited for RF applications. The main advantages of such an architecture is the desensitization of the modulators from clock jitter and excess loop delay without the need of switched capacitor circuitry. This architecture has been successfully implemented in an experimental chip.
