Abstract :
In this paper, we demonstrated dispensing of thousands of heterogeneous liquid drops into microwells with only a single pipetting, which would normally requires thousands of individual pipetting. Key idea is first to fabricate liquid capped Teflon microshells with fluorescent encoding and then to self-assemble those encoded liquid particles into microwells. Capped liquids then are released by breaking the Teflon microshell with pulsed laser. We believe this process would enable ultraplex microarray with liquid phase assay capability, whereas current multiplexed assay technology is limited to multiplexing of surface bound molecules such as DNA or protein.
