Abstract :
This paper describes a method for measuring the radiated susceptibility of electronic equipment accurately using an asymmetric transverse electromagnetic transmission cell (ATEM cell). The ATEM cell is in closed form with a total length of 2.6 m. The main cross section appears in an asymmetrical square form with dimensions of 1.2 m×1.2 m. The height of the upper half space is 0.3 m and height of the lower one is 0.9 m. Some wave-absorbing materials, a slideway and a revolving platform are installed in it. Its working frequency covers from DC to 500 MHz, and the standard field strength in it ranges from 10 μV/m to 170 V/m. The ATEM cell can be used to test an IBM personal computer or other electronic equipment which are placed in the cell during the test. The measuring process on radiated susceptibility is controlled by a computer. It has many virtues such as a wide working frequency range, no electromagnetic radiated pollution, easy operation and higher accuracy etc
