Abstract :
Summary form only given. We specifically probed the Tm/sup 3+/:Y/sub 2/BaF/sub 8/ laser transition at 482 nm. Because of the broad amplified spontaneous emission present in the wings of the probe laser pulses, relatively large spectral regions could be probed simultaneously.
