Abstract :
Secondary glitches caused by the switching of bandwidth in adaptive-bandwidth frequency synthesizers, are studied and a simple solution based on stepped-bandwidth switching is proposed to reduce their effects on the switching time of the synthesizer. Behavioral simulations using GSM specifications indicate nearly 35% improvement in switching time using the proposed solution.
