Abstract :
Summary form only given. All-solid-state compact blue and green lasers are required for low-power applications in the medical and reprographics industries. Our group recently reported 13 mW of green and 1 mW of blue radiation generated from diode-pumped composite-material microchip devices. In addition Zarrabi et al. generated 15 mW of blue radiation from a Ti:sapphire laser-pumped Nd:YALO/KNbO/sub 3/ microchip. We report here on a diode-array-pumped Nd:YAG/KNbO/sub 3/ blue microchip laser generating over 25 mW and 5 mW of 473 nm radiation using a 1.2 W and 0.5 W diode array respectively.
