Abstract :
Summary form only given. In this paper theoretical and experimental investigations of frequency-converted Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers are described. It is shown that significant statistical pulse-to-pulse fluctuations arise from a statistical phase distribution of the different oscillating longitudinal modes. These fluctuations can be eliminated by enforcing single-frequency operation of the laser system.
