Abstract
Summary form only given. As has been previously demonstrated, the 1 /spl mu/m pumped and noncritically phase-matched (NCPM), KTP based optical parametric oscillator (OPO) can be a highly efficient and reliable source. However, it cannot be tuned effectively. In this paper, we report a newly developed all-solid-state, type III critically phase-matched (CPM) KTiOPO/sub 4/ OPO. An initial theoretical comparison of the relevant phase-matching parameters for the NCPM and CPM devices has been undertaken, the results of which are shown.
