Abstract
Summary form only given. For the purpose of optical-limiting applications, we have studied, during the past few years, solid-state materials exhibiting a reverse saturation absorption (RSA) behavior. Our work mainly uses xerogels doped with phthalocyanines and HITCI molecules. To better determine the spectroscopic characteristics of the encaged dyes, we have extended our study of the RSA from the 532-nm wavelength to the visible spectrum, with nanosecond pulses.
