Abstract
In this paper, a new fuzzy logic-based image quality assessment approach is presented. The proposed method assumes that an image is composed of edge, texture and smooth regions. Then three different quality measures are defined and applied to their respective regions according to several fuzzy inference rules. Experimental results show that the proposed method performs better than some other methods, such as MSE, traditional block distortion measure.
