Abstract
Power DC/DC converters are switching circuits controlled by specific PWM regulation. Although they are usually designed for stable operation, many unstable states due to complicate bifurcation phenomena have been observed in these decades. To avoid those undesirable operations, a designer must know when and how stability is lost. Thus in this paper, we propose a method to analyze the bifurcation of switching control converters. Many bifurcation curves can be constructed to provide useful information for circuit design and control. Some practical circuits, such as voltage-mode buck converter and current-mode boost converter are considered.
