Abstract :
Summary form only given. The optical properties of Nd:YAG thin film were investigated by photoluminescence (PL) measurements. The Pl spectrum of 2.1 /spl mu/m thick epitaxial Nd:YAG film on YAG substrate grown at 910 C. Laser transitions of Nd/sup 3+/ ions in YAG in the region of 0.9 /spl mu/m and 1.06 /spl mu/m were observed dearly. The PL spectrum was the same as that of the Nd:YAG bulk crystal.
