Abstract :
Summary form only given. In summary, we have investigated the temperature dependence of fiber grating external cavity MQW SOA lasers (FG-ECLs), and found the detuning should be zero at 25 C for good single-mode operation over a wide-temperature range. We have obtained both good side mode supression ratio (SMSR) of 50 db at 50 C and low operation current of 26 mA for 1 mW optical output at 65 C, when a detuning at 25 C is zero.
