Abstract
Summary form only given. We have demonstrated broadband amplitude modulation using a travelling wave phase modulator in a Sagnac interferometer. The inherent bias stability when using a regular phase modulator makes this scheme advantageous over the Mach-Zehnder configuration in situations where low frequency response is not essential, such as subcarrier multiplexed analog communications and fiberfed radar applications.
