Abstract :
An overview of the current state of ultrahigh-speed transmission systems in Japan is presented. Recent progress in optical fiber transmission systems developed at NTT is reviewed. Transmission experiments and key technologies required for constructing ultrahigh-speed transmission systems are also discussed.<>
