Abstract
The authors describe the advantages of amplifying traveling-wave tube (TWT) chains in the 8-mm wavelength range based on power output transparent TWT packaged in permanent magnets for providing power levels of tens of kilowatts. To obtain pulse power levels of hundreds of kilowatts to the megawatt range, the hybrid orotron-TWT based microwave device version is represented. Experimental results are given.<>
