    Summary form only given. We have demonstrated all-optical /spl lambda/shifting of combined baseband and control signals using semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) cross-gain compression. We found that the subcarrier modulation depth must be increased if the combined baseband and control signals are to be /spl lambda/-shifted and detected.
