The author surveys existing telecommunications continuing education programs, namely the South Central Bell leading edge education (LEE) program presented by the University of Alabama at Birmingham and by BELLCORE and the BELLCORE-sponsored program presented by Carnegie-Mellon University. He also reviews BellSouth Services plans for a new strategic professional development (SPD) program that combines elements of existing programs
