Abstract :
It is emphasized that there is a need for greater testability, serviceability, and standardization of automotive electronic systems. Because of the continuously increasing use of electronic systems in automobiles, some automotive experts feel that the automobile needs to be completely redesigned to take full advantage of electronic capabilities. The systems approach needs to be applied for an improved design. The testability and serviceability problem is examined with particular reference to the Intel 8096 and the Motorola 68HC11 series controllers
