Abstract
Summary form only given. In the present study we have investigated a femtosecond nonlinear response in /spl beta/,/spl beta/-carotene (/spl beta/-carotene) solutions by means of an optical heterodyne-detected optical Kerr effect (OHDOKE) technique. The OHD-OKE measurement was done in a pump-probe configuration using a femtosecond modelocked Ti:sapphire laser.
