Abstract
It is demonstrated that the adaptive LMS (least mean square) filter does not necessarily converge to the Wiener solution. Iteration analysis is introduced and applied to the LMS adaptive filter. A 1 tap filter is examined in detail, and the structure of the estimate and error signals is investigated for an N tap filter. Simulation results are provided which confirm the theoretical findings
