Abstract :
Summary form only given. The optical response of magnetoexcitons (ME) has been a subject of considerable interest. Coherent excitation of more than one ME state requires a stable broadband coherent light source. In this paper we report on four-wave mixing (FWM) experiments on magnetoexcitons using broadband femtosecond pulses for the first time. The FWM signal reveals a complex beat structure that reflects the anharmonicity of the ME ladder. By varying the chirp of either pulse we demonstrate control of the relative phases of the individual ME polarizations. The experiments are performed on a symmetrically strained InGaAs-GaAsP sample held at 10 K.
