Abstract :
The distribution of direct lightning throughout a telecommunication building, a three-storey reinforced concrete building, is investigated experimentally. Surge current fed into the building primarily flows through the outside pillars and walls. The voltage waveform obtained between floor and ceiling is the differential of the pillar current. Horizontal magnetic field strength becomes more than 0.1 A/m, even at the center of the room. The experimental results agree with the calculated results of the ordinary wire frame model
