Abstract :
Radio frequency (RF) susceptibility tests on pacemakers are frequently performed with the pacemakers in a saline solution. The attenuation provided by three different saline concentrations over the frequency range of 30-800 MHz is investigated. During these investigations it was found that 10 cm of saline provides anywhere from 0 to 19 dB of attenuation depending on the frequency and saline concentration
