Abstract :
Summary form only given. In this work we present experimental results that point out, for the first time, the role of size in affecting the ultrafast electron relaxation dynamics in metal nanoparticles. The experiments have been performed by femtosecond transient reflectivity technique on tin nanocrystals with radii in the range 20-60 /spl Aring/ embedded in a dielectric (Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/) matrix.
