Abstract
This paper describes status of gyrotron developments at NEC. 35/53 GHz gyrotron oscillators are constructed for plasma heating applications. A 35 GHz gyrotron is designed for basic experiments of electron cyclotron resonance heating. The maximum efficiency of the tube was 55% with power output of 90 kW and pulse length of 10 ms. A 53 GHz gyrotron is under development. The best test results of the first tube to date have reached 127 kW with efficiency of 20% and pulse length of 8 ms.
