Abstract :
A two kilowatt CW traveling wave tube is presently under development by Teledyne MEC for X-band communications systems operating in the 7.9 to 8.4 frequency range. The design uses non-brazed helix circuit technology with an output vacuum waveguide window. A two-stage, air-cooled collector assembly is used to achieve a high overall efficiency over the 500 megahertz operating bandwidth.
