Abstract :
Fuel gas utilization and gas humidity of internal humidification method were studied for the improved performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). The performance of fuel cell was effected on hydrogen utilization rate and increased up to 70% fuel utilization rate. In case of oxidizing agent, the performance was not effected much on the oxygen flow rate. However, the performance was effected much on the air flow rate and increased as the air utilization decreased. The relative humidify was decreased as the gas flow rate increased, and this result could be explained by residence time effect. The relative humidity was increased as the water flow rate increased but it reached a certain value at higher flow rate. Optimized water flow rate at specific internal humidifier could be obtained using the above result. The water temperature had great influence upon the humidity of gas
