Abstract :
A current sensor that uses the change of the apparent coercive field strength caused by the current to be measured is introduced. The apparent coercive field strength is derived from the magnetizing current by detecting the zero crossing points of the average magnetic flux of a core pair. The current is periodically measured at a frequency which is the same as that of the magnetizing current of the sensor. The current sensor shows a standard deviation of the nonlinearity of less than 0.002%, and can measure transient current signals with an 80-kHz sampling rate
