Abstract :
The paper examines the requirements for an interactive CAD package that can be used to solve problems in electromagnetic analysis. The applicability of quasistatic and fullwave techniques to the computeraided design of MIC and MMIC structures is discussed. Criteria are chosen on which to assess these methods, and include accuracy, speed and flexibility. A flexible menu-driven interactive package, based on quasistatic analysis using the finite-difference method, is described.
