Abstract :
A method for the calculation of transient phenomena in transformer feeders is presented. The technique, which is based on the compensation theorem, combines a travelling-wave simulation for the line with a direct method for the solution of the transformer equations, and allows the nonlinearity of the magnetic circuit of the transformer to be represented. The application of the method to the calculation of energisation overvoltages and to the simulation of ferroresonance is demonstrated.
