Abstract :
A wavelength-division-multiplexing-based passive optical network (PON) is demonstrated in which wavelengths can be shared by a flexible number of users on other PONs served from the same central office. Bidirectional transmission is demonstrated through a typical PON at 2.5 Gb/s with wavelength sharing of 16.
