Abstract
Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) will play an important role in the next-generation wireless communication systems because it can support broadband services with ubiquitous coverage by low power consumption. In this article, we will discuss and evaluate the possibility of distributing triple play (Voice-over-IP (VoIP), Internet and Internet Protocol TV (IPTV)) services over a wireless meshed network established in an indoor environment. We are using modified and reconfigured IEEE 802.11b/g access points in the experimental setup. The achieved results from both simulation and experimental setup show that it is possible to run three (3) standard definition (SD) IPTV channels simultaneously and also have VoIP connected over at least two hops with satisfied quality.
