Abstract :
India is a vast country with varied climatic conditions. The estimation of the climatic conditions and hence the fading characteristics becomes a difficult task because of the large variation in the meteorological conditions. This paper makes an attempt to study the performance of the microwave link on the western coast of India. This link was designed and the performance was predicted. On implementation, the performance of the link was studied. The occurrence of the fading and the associated mechanisms, in Gujarat has been discussed on the backdrop of the radio meteorological data that was available for this western coastal region of India
