Abstract :
Approximately 20 years ago, TCP/IP got a big boost from Van Jacobson and his team in the form of the slow-start algorithm. The first featured Web extra is a video interview with Van Jacobson on the creation of the National Science Foundation network in the 1980s. The second featured Web extra is an audio recording of the Computing Conversations column, with author Charles Severance discussing his interview with Van Jacobson on the creation of the National Science Foundation network in the 1980s.
