Abstract :
A triple-band wireless local area network (WLAN) antenna has been proposed. The antenna comprises a planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) in conjunction with a parasitic element. It has been demonstrated that triple-band WLAN operations including the IEEE 802.11 2.4 GHz (2.4-2.484 GHz), 5.2 GHz (5.15-5.35 GHz), and 5.8 GHz (5.725-5.825 GHz) can be achieved by using the proposed antenna with a very compact size, probably the most compact WLAN internal antenna covering the three frequency bands.
