Abstract :
The data matrix bar code has been used in many applications for the industry. There is a dotted data matrix bar code that appears different from the original standard one. This paper presents a scanning method for dotted data matrix. The scanned image of dotted data matrix is usually not in the right direction and it will rotate depending on the location of the original bar code or the direction of scanning device. This scanning method can still analyze the content of bar code if the rotation angle is not close to 45 degree. This method analyze the binary content of bar code by the interpolation of the positions of the timing pattern so that deformed bar code can still be analyzed if the deformation is proportional to the timing pattern deformation.
