Abstract :
By virtue of studying the change of torque (or shear stress) in smart composites of two polyacene quinone radical (PAQR) polymers dispersed in silicone oil with some important factors, such as, shear rate, temperature, and applied stress, we have observed that there is a correlation in the change trend between both the current-voltage and stress-voltage curves, expressed by power function. It is worthy of note that the power index in some cases is about 3, higher markedly than the 2 expected from conversant models. A maximum exists at about 120 °C in the diagram of shear stress versus temperature; the conductivity and dielectric permittivity, or type of PAQR were a significant influence on the ER behaviour. Here, we give a tentative explanation for these phenomena
