Abstract :
The Coulomb force exerted by an electric field on free charges injected into a liquid dielectric (LD) may cause motion of that liquid. This motion is named electroconvection. The intense electroconvection may be used to enhance heat transfer. Experiments indicate up to fifteen-fold increases in Nusselt number in LD subjected to a high voltage electric field
