Abstract :
Most of the hi-tech industries are facing increasing challenges in global dynamics and uncertainty environment. Therefore, alliances with partners are become critical to enhancing competitiveness. Combined with heuristic technique, GM (grey model) and DEA (data envelopment analysis), this paper develops an effective method to assist hi-tech companies to evaluate the operation efficiency and find the proper candidates of strategic alliance under several different inputs and outputs. Case by Taiwan´s TFT-LCD (thin film transistor-liquid crystal display) industry, one backlight module and eight large-sized TFT-LCD companies in Taiwan were selected. The results demonstrate that the proposed model can help managers to find the proper partners for strategic alliance and increase their companies´ strengths.
