Abstract :
The paper illustrates a proposal which allows the availability of both secondary and absolute standard of capacitance having fixed absolute value known at construction and not by a change of capacitance. This has been achieved by the cross-capacitor toroidal form which is exempt from “end” effects. The proposal evaluates the best form of the ring electrodes and the feature of their design to fulfil this purpose with an uncertainty <0.1 ppm
