Abstract :
We examine the roles of multiple descriptions coding, error concealment, latency, and protocol design for a wide range of network packet loss conditions. The illustrate that error concealment is an excellent approach at low loss rates, and that exploiting latency through protocol design and feedback is attractive at high packet losses
