Abstract
We have developed a novel two-stage configuration of a 1580 nm band erbium-doped fiber amplifier employing temperature compensation technique. Gain flatness less than 1.0 dB over 30 nm is successfully achieved from 0/spl deg/C and 70/spl deg/C.
