Abstract :
Reconfigurable technology plays a critical role in the development of Next-generation wireless communication systems. OFDM is wireless communication technique in which digital data is encoded in large number of closely spaced orthogonal sub-carrier signals. The paper discusses the Baseband FPGA implementation of an OFDM transmitter. The module is implemented using a technique called partial reconfiguration so that the user can swap between different modulation schemes, coding methods and number sub-carriers needed in minimum time. In this implementation the user can switch between four OFDM transmitters in less than a minute without disturbing the normal working of the system. In this PR based implementation of OFDM Transmitter a larger part of the Modulator, coding and IFFT modules will be static and a smaller part will be dynamic. During swapping only the dynamic part of the FPGA is reconfigured in minimum which will reduce power and configuration time.
