Abstract :
A combination of multi-destination routing and real-time traffic light control is described. The multi-destination routing strategy is based on a concept of cost-to-go to different destinations. Since this cost-to-go considers the effect of the delay caused by queues in every downstream node, the traveling time of every downstream link and the delay caused by the traffic lights, the routing strategy is a partially decentralized and dynamic routing method. The traffic light control given in this paper is also a decentralized control approach. The effects of the combination of both routing and intersection control are analyzed
