Abstract :
This paper describes an evaluation method of difficulty for mystery novels and an estimation method of culprits using syntactic analysis and anaphora analysis. Particularly, In this research, This method aims to show the degree of difficulty based on automatic evaluation of each mystery novel to readers when they select the mystery novel of their choice. Our method estimates the culprit by using the information of each character´s appearance ratio and evaluates the degree of difficulty based on the transition of the appearance ratio along the progress of the story. Consequently, we confirmed that the appearance ratio of culprit increases at the end of a story in the orthodox mystery novel. Therefore, we evaluated the degree of difficulty of the mystery novel indicated this tendency to be low.
